What tissue are affected if you have stroke?

A stroke primarily affects brain tissue. It occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain is interrupted, leading to the death of brain cells in the affected area due to lack of oxygen and nutrients. Depending on the location and severity of the stroke, different brain regions may be impacted, resulting in various neurological deficits. Additionally, surrounding tissues may also be affected due to the cascade of cellular events following the initial injury.
