A typical architecture program will include:
Design Studio- projects are assigned and students develop designs from concept to final presentation
Drawing/Drafting Class- students learn different ways of renderings projects, how to draw plans, sections, elevations, perspectives, and other architectural drawing sets
CADD Class- students learn Computer Aided Drafting & Design programs for creating plans, sections, elevations, and possibly 3D modeling and rendering as well.
Architecture & History- students learn the relationships of architecture with society, culture, technology, and history
Construction & Structures- students learn how buildings are put together, what keeps them standing, and strengths and weaknesses of different building materials.
Building Systems- how different systems are integrated within the building such as HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electricity, Lighting, ect.
Schools often provide other courses involving architecture, such as design/build classes or special lecture classes covering various aspects of architecture (for example: sustainability, urban development, arts & architecture).
