What did Saint Patrick write?

St. Patrick is thought to have used the three-leaf clover to explain the concept of the Trinity. One leaf represented God the Father, a second Jesus, and the third the Holy Spirit. All leaves were separate but part of the clover, just as Christians believe that all members of the trinity are distinct but still one god.
