Why does the United Kingdom not get earthquakes?

Active volcanoes tend to occur at plate boundaries or in rare cases where there are hot spots in the mantle (such as the one responsible for the volcanism creating the Hawaiian island chain). The UK is not located near a plate boundary or a mantle hotspot!
