What happened to the wardrobe in Narnia?

If you remember, it was in the Professor's house. If we read The Magician's Nephew we learn that Digory (the hero) brought back a special Apple from Narnia to our world. He planted the seeds, and it grew into a Apple tree here. This tree was blown down in a windstorm, and Digory had the wood made into a wardrobe.
