Where do gerbils sleep in the desert?

In the desert, gerbils would eat seeds like they do when there kept as pets, but they also eat somethings people don't serve them like, mealworms, bugs, (don't feed them any bug other that Mealworms unless you know its completely safe for them.) and even eggs. (if you feed them eggs, boil them,take all the shell off, and cut it in to small pieces before serving.)
