I had a rectal polyp removed 10mm in size and on the report in big letters it stated Insertion confirmed by anatomical landmark. What does anatomical landmark mean?

They used a part of your body (aka a freckle, bone, etc.) to confirm that they hit the mark / cut out what they needed to.
