What does a wave tattoo symbolize?

Symbolism of a Wave TattooI can't speak for specific symbolism, but I was a competitive swimmer for 14 years, and I got mine once I finished my career. I'm very much an aquatic person, so to me, the waves serve as a reminder of my sport and the peace and tranquility that being in or near the water brings.
