In Florida, fees are regulated locally. In Hillsborough County, by the Public Transportation Commission, as follows: 1. Light Duty (up to 10,000 lbs. GVW) $100.00 maximum for ordinary towing. An additional charge of up to $4.00 per mile may be charged. 2. Medium Duty (10,001 to 16,000 lbs. GVW) $120.00 maximum for ordinary towing plus up to $4.00 per towed mile. 3. Medium/Heavy Duty (16,001 lbs. GVW and above) $250.00 maximum for ordinary towing plus up to $6.00 per towed mile. *There are additional fees possible for waiting time and/or inordinate labor, winching, and recovery, when necessary, for extrication from ditches, half-submerged vehicles, or off-road. Storage fees apply after 24 hrs and accrue at a daily rate of $20.00-Light duty, $30.00 medium duty, or $50.00 medium/heavy duty. Administrative fees should not exceed $45.00 per vehicle.
