How did St. Calida become a saint?

Do you mean St. Caldia? There is no St. Calida. Caldia was a Christian woman martyred in the persecutions of Diocletian. She was burned to death c.300 at Amisus, Paphlagonia . By dying as a martyr, she earned for herself the title of saint.
