How did no doubt start?

No Doubt formed in 1986 in Anaheim, California, initially as a ska band led by vocalist Gwen Stefani and her brother Eric Stefani, who played keyboards. They were joined by bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont, and drummer Adrian Young. The band gained local popularity and released their self-titled debut album in 1992. Their unique blend of ska, punk, and pop eventually led to mainstream success in the mid-1990s.
