What does the name Mercedes mean in Mercedes-Benz?

The Mercedes portion of the brand Mercedes-Benz comes from Mercédès Jellinek, the daughter of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft board member Emil Jellinek. Ironically, Mercédès had no interest in automobiles.
