Which side of engine is bank 1 on 04 Subaru Outback?

The only place I can think of that uses this nomenclature is the check engine coding having to do with oxygen sensors. This is irrelevant since there are not separate exhausts, assuming this is a 4 cylinder engine. You only got one bank.
