Are the Filipinos illiterate

In all countries, there are always illiterate people but you can not use that as a base for stating that all of them are illiterate.

The Philippines has a literacy rate of 93.4%. It is rather high for a third world country, considering the fact that there inadequate funds for education from the government.

And the Philippines is ranked 15 in Asia and 80 in the world. It has a higher literacy rate than China and Singapore! It is quite a feat if you would ask me.
