The Internet is one big network connecting computers and people the world over. There are also networks which are not connected to the Internet allowing easy exchange of data at home or in an office environment.

Access to the Internet or using a local network offers many advantages. For example, do you want to create your own network or share an Internet connection with multiple computers at the same time ä Or perhaps even have Internet access via any socket available a Or do you want to share peripherals such as printers with multiple computers.

The Internet cannot be replaced by a single networking technology. The Internet the network of networks, each using its own networking technologies to connect with the other networks.
