When are Word or Words are contracted together, then the aspostrophe goes b where the missing letter should be.

It's for 'It is'.

However, for contracted Words, such as 'mister, doctor etc., then a full stop/period is used at the end of the contraction.

Mister ; Mr.

Doctor ; Dr.
