How many times should a shih tzu mate to get pregnant?

Shih Tzus, as with most animals can continue to reproduce into their later years. In my opinion, it is not humane to breed an animal each and every time they go into heat. As long as you respect your animal's body and care for them they can continue to give birth if they are in good health.
