How do you stop your pet bird squawking really loudly?

You can try to keep the cage dark, by covering it but this is only a quick fix. Budgies are squawkers. This is what they do. Or you can do what I do, squirt them with a water bottle, or tell them to shut the F'k Up!! it works for me.
