This question could be answered many ways:
It could be a consumer end router, consisting of 5 Female RJ-45 connections, four are the ethernet switch while the fifth provides connection from an outside network (most likely an isp via a modem).
It could be a hub that just allows computers to connect without packet regulation.
It could be a switch which is like a hub but it has advanced packed regulation allowing high network speeds across many machines without flooding all of the bandwith.
lastly it could be a bridge which bridges 2 separate networks into one.
