What is the meaning of streetrees?

the saying "Trees are the lungs of the city" is an understatement.much more than that,trees are the heart and soul of the city. and they reflect our past and our future.
"Streetrees" are not simply engines propelling vital oxygen-carbon dioxide exchange. not merely parasols generously providing shade from the scorching sun. not just nailing posts for succint advertisments like "lipat-bahay" and "tubero" as well as unwitting canvasses for vandalism and other forms of pseudo art.

"Streetrees" are the metaphor for our city and the metamorphosis it has to and has chosen to undergo.
The streetrees of Manila have silently struggled against the effects of the urbanization, pollution and congestion.the destruction echoes the decay of our city,
