Yes. A barrel of crude oil goes to much more than just fueling our vehicles. In fact only 43% is used to make gasoline for cars. A majority is used to make jet fuels, gas fuels, kerosene, and other types of fuels. 2.5% goes to the creation of petrochemicals. There is an entire world of products that rely on petrochemicals. A complete list would be vast, but here are some examples: cosmetics (including mascara), clothing (polyester and nylon), aspirin, soaps, shampoo, detergents, dish washing liquids, fertilizers, insecticides, eyeglasses, contact lenses, tires, the list goes on and on.
