What is the job done by a health care asistant?

A health care assistant helps the physician or nurse to perform certain tasks within a hospital or physician's office. A nursing assistant might take vital signs and weight and record these on a chart. He might chart the reason for today's visit and list needed refills for medications. She may be trained to do EKG procedures in the office setting, or to do basic lab tests, such as an in-office finger stick for blood sugar. All tasks are under the direction and supervision of a licensed medical professional.
