Can a hawk pick up a person?

The larger female hawks like the Red Tail, Ferruginous, Harris's, and so forth could probably do it if they wanted to, but it is doubtful that they can carry away more than 7 or 8 pounds. In any event, hawks usually stun or kill their prey and eat it on the spot without flying away.
