Not everything is born from an egg. While many animals, like birds, reptiles, and fish, reproduce by laying eggs, mammals typically give live birth. However, some mammals, such as monotremes (like the platypus), do lay eggs. Therefore, while egg-laying is common in the animal kingdom, it is not universal to all species.
