Is there a reserve tank on a 1986 a Honda shadow VT1100?

No. The fuel switch has two settings. On and Off. No reserve setting was designed in to it.

If it is the same as my 83 750 shadow they put an indicator light on it to show when you were on reserve (mine was broken when I first found out about it and yes I had to push the bike to gas station)
