What does a sunflower drink?

Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus) likes to live in well-drained soil, so that it has access to water, but not too much. The water will have dissolved nutrients, including minerals, that are important for the tissue growth of the sunflower plant. The absorption of water and dissolved particles is controlled by the roots, and transported by the vascular system to all parts of the plant.
