Who played Dr Gregory House on the hit TV show entitled House?

There are many things wrong with Dr. House. First when he as younger his leg had to have something done to it because the blood stopped in it. Thus to ease his pain for the weakened leg he takes vicoden. Now he is addicted to it and he has hallucinations and what not. Plus he's mad at the world and hates everyone. That's pretty much it.
