Vitamin A is needed for new cell growth; healthy skin, hair and tissues; and vision in dim light (it helps your pupils dilate).
- Vitamin A combines with a protein called opsintoform rhodopsin in the rod cells of retina of eye. When vitamin is insufficient, the lack of rhodopsin makes it difficult to see in dim light.
- It is involved in normal cell differentiation
- Vitamin A supports male and female reproductive processes and bone growth
- It is essential for immune function.
Vitamin A is important for good vision (particularly night vision), cell growth, and the immune system.
