To safely relight the pilot light on your gas fireplace, follow these steps:
- Turn off the gas supply to the fireplace and wait for at least 5 minutes for any lingering gas to dissipate.
- Locate the pilot light assembly and follow the manufacturer's instructions on how to access it.
- Use a long lighter or match to ignite the pilot light while holding down the pilot button.
- Once the pilot light is lit, continue to hold down the pilot button for about 30 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
- Release the pilot button and check to ensure the pilot light stays lit. If it goes out, repeat the process.
- Turn on the gas supply and test the fireplace to ensure it is working properly.
