Can an elephant smell water

hi stupid don't be dumb we asked a simple question why do we call an e;lephant as elephant & u r givinig us lame excuses by putting other questions ,information etc . u better study & let us know the right answer ok because google search has answer to all questions even if it is silly? got it! yeah!
