How do you remove the spool housing for a Black and Decker grass hog xp model gh 1000 type 4 to attach a grass gator grass blade head?

1. Remove the spool cover.

2. Remove the spool.

3. Use flathead screwdriver to remove the single screw in the center of the housing.

4. Pull. The housing straight off.

(Note: it may be somewhat difficult to pull the housing off, but a strong firm pull should remove the housing. No turning is necessary.)

5. Put the new housing on, lining up the center hole on the housing with the center rod on the base.

6. Use flathead screw to replace the single screw into the center of the housing.
