Why did Abraham die?

The consensus of historians is that Abraham was not a real, historical person, because so much of the biblical account is disproven by history. If Abraham was not a real, historical person, then of course he did not die.

The Bible says that Abraham died, having lived to the age of 175, although this age seems to be based on numerology, rather than fact.
