When was the last time a cougar killed a person?

As of my last update in October 2023, the most recent confirmed fatality from a cougar attack occurred in May 2021 in Colorado. A 31-year-old man was killed by a cougar while Mountain Biking in the area. Such incidents are rare, with few reported fatalities in North America over the past several decades.
