What does it mean when a hummingbird appears close to you and your not by a feeder?

If you live in the northern hemisphere it means that the weather is warm enough for them to have migrated north from their wintering grounds. They will be feeding and building nests in preparation for mating. Hummingbirds that have become accustomed to being fed by humans with feeders will often hover at people's Windows looking for food.
