How air reaches inside the body of insect?

Insects breathe through a system of small openings called spiracles located on their exoskeleton. Air enters these spiracles and travels through a network of tubes known as tracheae, which branch throughout the insect's body. This tracheal system allows oxygen to diffuse directly to their tissues, while carbon dioxide is expelled back through the spiracles. This efficient system enables insects to meet their respiratory needs without the use of lungs.
