When was Shopify created?

Shopify was created in 2004 by Tobias Lütke, Daniel Weinand, and Scott Lake. The company was originally created to sell snowboards online, but the founders quickly realized that there was a need for a better e-commerce platform. They developed Shopify to meet that need and launched it in 2006 as a fully-hosted e-commerce platform that allows anyone to set up an online store and sell products. Since then, Shopify has grown to become one of the largest e-commerce platforms in the world, powering over 1 million businesses in more than 175 countries.
