No, you cannot flush tampons - always wrap-up and throw in the bin.

Some tampon companies claim their products are flushable, but although they may clear the U-bend they shouldn't be flushed because rather than breaking down in water they expand so can cause blockages in the pipes and in turn serious damage to pipes. Tampons can also bypass sewage treatment works so end-up in waterways where they are an environmental risk.

They have sanitary waste bins in public bathrooms for a reason, please use them.
