Note: The sentences above use "prank" as a noun. "Prank" has entered current usage as a transitive verb meaning "to play a prank on" (for example, "You've been "pranked!"). This is not accepted as standard usage, however. There is an accepted definition of "prank" as a transitive verb meaning "to decorate ostentatiously" or "to make an ostentatious display", but this usage is not common and is not likely to be widely understood.
