How can you tell if throttle position sensor is bad?

if your TPS is bad, you will see your car running at a higher idle speed than normal. most cars idle around 700-1100rpm on a warm day (50 or higher)

if you are aeeing higher than 1100 or 1200 rpm, you might have a problem
