Does a tiger swallowtail butterfly grow back its wings?

Butterflies' wings are very fragile and break easily. They are coated with fine powder that will easily rub off if they are handled and they tear very easily. Preserved, dried specimens are mounted on a board with a pin. They should only ever be handled with the pin because the wings are even more fragile when they are dry; they become brittle.
