What is a papillion when it is not a film or the french word for butterfly?

A papillon is also a breed of dog, named from the French Word due to its memorable face. It has large ears, and most of the head is coloured except for a white stripe down the middle, making it look like a butterfly. They have long, fine, silky fur and are often mistaken for Chihuahuas by novices.
