What are metartasals?

Metatarsals are the long bones located in the midfoot, specifically between the tarsal bones of the ankle and the phalanges of the toes. There are five metatarsals in each foot, labeled from one to five starting with the big toe. They play a crucial role in providing structure, support, and stability to the foot, facilitating walking, running, and other movements.
