How do you add transmission fluid to a 1995 Jetta GL 2 liter without going to the dealer?

Been there done that. If your talking about a standard tranny You can do this by taking your drivers side wheel off. You can do it with it on. Easier if off. Either way jack your car up on that side. This way you can get maximum fluid in your tranny. Block your car for saftey!!!(jackstands)I took a nut that fit in the filler plug on the end of the tranny and welded another bolt to it to make a wrench. Not sure what size would have to go look.Put a socket wrench on tool you made and take plug out. Go buy a liter of 80/90 oil preferably with a pointed nozzel to fit in the hole Squeeze bottle slowly and fill til fluid runs out. Let sit for a minute and squirt some more in . Do so until fluid is level to threaded hole. Reinsert the plug and get your leak fixed at the shop.
