How do you remove an alternator off of a 98 dodge avenger?

To remove the alternator from a 1998 Dodge Avenger, first disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent any electrical short circuits. Then, remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner, and unbolt the alternator from its mounting bracket. Disconnect the electrical connectors and the positive battery cable from the alternator, and finally, carefully lift the alternator out of the engine bay.
