Avoid greasy foods, and wash your hands after eating if you DO have something greasy. Try not to touch your face too often. Wash your face, but use gentle soap and don't wash too often. Doing so might irritate the skin and make it even oilier. But those are all fairly obvious.
One other thing you might try: Get some Vitamin E pills, cut them open and rub the oil all over your face after you wash it. It's greasy and gross, but you only need to leave it on an hour or so, then wash off with a gentle soap. This is an Excellent, long lasting moisturizer, and also helps acne and acne scars fade faster. You only need to do this once a week or so.
Well moisturized skin doesn't go as overboard in trying to make its own "moisturizer," aka oil.
