In which book do you find the meaning of words?

No, I don't. I have many of them. Such books are called 'Etymologies', and they document where Words began, progressed to and through, and how they arrived where they are 'now' I'd also like a book explaining why we still use the Word 'dialing' since phones with dials have been extinct for three decades(?!?) What I'd really like is a book that showed where Words are going!!!
