When do you use been in English grammar?

Been is the past participle of be so it can be used in all verb phrases where the past participle is used for example:

present perfect -- He has been to China. They have been to China. Where have you been?

past perfect -- We had been to the game. The boys had been outside. Where had she been?

passive -- He has been asked to be the coach. She had been told to go home.
