Where was the first sonic restaurant?

The first Sonic Drive-In restaurant opened in 1953 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Originally called "Top Hat Drive-In," it offered a unique drive-in experience where carhops served food directly to customers in their vehicles. The concept evolved over the years, eventually adopting the Sonic name in 1959. Today, it has grown into a popular fast-food chain across the United States.
