The difference between digital and traditional art is the medium used to create it.

Digital art is created digitally--using a computer (using software's like i.e. Photoshop, Iclone software, or MS Paint). Most online art is digitally created and thus is digital art.

Traditional art is created using mediums other than the computer--such as painting on canvas with actual paint, drawing with a graphite pencil on real paper, or sculpting a figure out of clay.
