Cans are generally colder than bottles when both are taken from the same environment because aluminum, which is used for cans, conducts heat more efficiently than glass or plastic. As a result, cans cool down more quickly in a refrigerator or cooler. Additionally, the larger surface area of a can allows for more rapid heat exchange. However, once out of the cooling environment, the temperature of both will equalize with the surrounding air over time.
